AEB: New car, LCV sales in Russia double to 51,466 in May
MOSCOW, Jun 6 (PRIME) -- Russia’s sales of new cars and light commercial vehicles (LCVs) more than doubled on the year to 51,466 units in May, the Association of European Businesses (AEB) said in a statement on Tuesday.
In January–May, sales of new cars and LCVs in Russia fell 26% to 228,500 vehicles, the association said.
The sales of Lada cars by car producer AvtoVAZ almost quadrupled to 23,904 units in May and jump 72% to 115,779 cars in January–May, the AEB also said.
The data does not include China’s car producer Chery, whose sales ranked fifth in Russia in 2022, as well as sales of car producers BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Russian electric car brand Evolute.
